What shall I choose for my kids, DHA or Fish oil ?

Updated: May 14, 2022

The 𝗦𝗽𝗲𝗰𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝗞𝗶𝗱 range is specifically designed to answer small inconveniences faced by our children every day.

The DHA capsules based on seaweed oil enable them to meet some essential needs for the development and proper functioning of their bodies.

Does seaweed contain omega-3?

Unlike land plants such as kale and spinach, seaweed contains preformed omega-3 fatty acid EPA, so seaweed can be a reliable source of omega-3 for vegetarians and vegans. There are three main types of omega-3 fatty acid, which are called ALA, DHA, and EPA. Plant sources, such as nuts and seeds, are rich in ALA, while fish, seaweed, and algae can provide DHA and EPA fatty acids.

Does fish produce EPA & DHA?

Seaweed and algae also supply EPA and DHA. Because fish aren't able to produce EPA and DHA, they get it by eating microalgae. Thus, algae are the sources of the omega-3 fats in fish (1, 13 , 14). Omega-3s are necessary for various processes in your body.

Do your kids need both EPA and DHA?

EPA and DHA do different things, so they need them both, especially for the brain. If your goal is reducing cellular inflammation, then you probably need more EPA than DHA.
